If you have a tech-intensive startup, and you’re using Google Cloud Platform, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) credits can help to lower your expenses in the early days. (If you’re using AWS, check out my previous post about Free AWS Credits for Startups.)
Here are some ways to get Google Cloud Platform credits of various levels, in addition to the $300 free tier that Google offers to all new customers:
$200 GCP Credits
- Join Gitlab
- Join Cloudflare
- Join Itopia
$3,000 GCP Credits (GCP Start Package)
- Join Cloudflare
$5,000 GCP Credits (GCP Research Credits Program)
- Apply for GCP Credits for Researchers — for researchers only, of course
$20,000 GCP Credits (GCP Spark Package)
- Xoogler.co — for former Google employees only
- Raise funding from a VC firm that partners with Google at the Spark level
- Win a competition like SpaceCom
$100,000 GCP Credits (GCP Surge Package)
- Join Founder Friendly Labs –members pay a $5,900 one-time fee, exclusively for founders with past work experience
- Raise funding from a prominent VC firm that has a relationship with GCP such as Greylock Partners, Bessemer Partners, etc.
- Win a major competition like SpaceCom or Global Startup Weekend
- Research if your alma mater has a program for startups that includes GCP credits, such as StartX for Stanford alumni, etc.
